Calhoun County Lead Remediation Programs

If your rental property was built before 1978, it could contain lead paint. That means tiny paint chips and paint dust could be contaminating your tenant’s toys, bottles, and pacifiers. Then, when a child puts any of these items in their mouth, the lead can get into their blood stream. Since it’s almost impossible to keep young children from putting things in their mouths, it’s important to make your home as lead safe as possible.

Calhoun County has two lead remediation programs aimed at doing just that. Both renters and landlords can apply for help. And, as long as you continue to rent to moderate to very low income families for three years after the remediation is finished, there could be no cost to you!
